As in previous years (and this year is not an exception) new regatta team|crew was born in the sailing school
North Adriatic Sailing Academy.
The “
Nasa Echo Team”.
After two extensive and rich (three days) trainings on the water and one day theory it’s time for first regatta
"11a Tre Golfi" MUGGIA-PORTOROSE-MUGGIA; organized by
Circolo della vela Muggi.
Muggia as we call it is one of the biggest regatta in our water especially by number of sailboats. In other side this is navigation regatta which is in some part little easier for beginners.
However beautiful event which is worth to take part. More informations about almost 14 days event could be find on the above link.
Because we have already worked with the team on the first and second training they are invited one of our club member on the regatta…
First day (Friday) we made a well training and finish the day in Muggia with weather, route, sea, and tactics analysis.
First race
Muggia – Portorosse is always exciting because when you wake up in the morning there is no sign about regatta with 100+ sailboats. This year was over 120 sailboats of every lengths.
Start was as starts is 🙂 Then we sail more or less into the wind and last half mile with spinnaker.
Second race
Portorosse - Muggia next day was similar in the beginning of the race. Somewhere near Izola we raised the spinnaker and due to good tactical decisions, where we would sail, gain a lot of places. After we turn the buoy in Koper weather get worst and some kind of tramontane begin to blow. In this last part we again gain some places because sail in sea whit less and smaller waves.
In general we finished on
27th place overall and
3rd place in our class.
